Machame Route Success Rate:

The Machame route has a fair success rate, thanks to many ups and downs allowing for better acclimatization. To ensure a higher success rate, it is best to take your time. The 7-day itinerary has an average summit success rate of 85%. For the 6-day itinerary success rate drops to 75% on average.

Rongai Route Success Rate:

To ensure a higher success rate on the Rongai route, it is highly recommended for trekkers to aim for the seven-day itinerary with one day dedicated to acclimatization. On average, this itinerary has a decent 80% summit success rate, while for the six-day itinerary, the success rate drops down to 65%.

Lemosho Route Success Rate:

Lemosho route has a very good success rate with high chances of reaching the summit when you take your time. With 8 days on the mountain, your chances of reaching the top are as high as 90%. It is still very probable you’ll reach the top with the 7-day hike, with a success rate of 85%. However, with the 6-day hike, the success rate drops to approximately 65%. The Lemosho route success rate is higher than the Machame route one.

Northern Circuit Success Rate:

Northern Circuit Route has the highest Kilimanjaro Success Rate which is 98% and approaches from south of Kilimanjaro. It is the newest and longest route which offers the most spectacular view of the overall 360-degree scenery of Mount Kilimanjaro. Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro on this route takes 8 to 9 days for the summit.
